The Biggest Questions The Mandalorian Season 3 Needs To Answer
By JENNA BUSCH
Spoiler Warning!
This story contains spoilers for
“The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.”
Season 2 of “The Mandalorian” ended with Din and Grogu parting ways, but “The Book of Boba Fett” saw the unlikely duo reunited once again and ready for their next adventure. While the trailer for the next season offers glimpses of what viewers should expect, many questions from their previous outings remain unanswered and need to be addressed.
Jedi Training
Grogu may have chosen his adopted father over the Jedi, but the young protagonist still spent some time with Luke Skywalker as a Padawan. The trailer shows Grogu using some impressive Force skills on an alien creature, but it raises questions about how much his powers have grown since Season 2 and if he’ll receive any additional training.
Order 66
Viewers learned Grogu was present at Coruscant’s Jedi Temple during Order 66 when Ahsoka read his mind and showed a flashback of lightsaber-wielding figures protecting him. Although his memory went dark before his rescue, the Season 3 trailer teases a group of Jedi and could answer the mystery surrounding Grogu’s escape from the Jedi purge.
Familiar Faces
“The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” brought fan-favorite Luke Skywalker into this unexplored era of “Star Wars” history. While it wouldn’t be a shock to see Boba Fett or Fennec Shand appear in the new season, viewers might also see other characters like Sabine Wren from “Rebels” and the upcoming “Ahsoka” series make a cameo.
The Darksaber
As audiences learned from the previous season, the wielder of the Darksaber has a claim to rule Mandalore, though the weapon needs to be won in combat. After defeating Moff Gideon and claiming the weapon, Season 3 needs to answer whether Din will come into conflict with Bo-Katan over the Darksaber and the fate of Mandalore.
