The Biggest Change Netflix Made To Avatar: The Last Airbender Explained

There are few properties as protected by fans as the animated “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series. These followers have been critical of the live-action changes.
While adaptions need certain tweaks, one change likely to inspire debate is combining Jet’s freedom fighters, the Omashu arc, and The Mechanist into one episode.
In the animated series, these events take place several episodes apart and are fully fleshed out, providing the young heroes with valuable lessons.
These arcs in the Netflix series leave viewers feeling shortchanged. Despite the live-adaption’s episodes being twice the run-time of the cartoon’s episodes, there are only eight.
While they were important enough to be featured in the series, their episode felt overstuffed, and the stories weren’t given the attention they deserved.
