The Animal House Easter Egg That Explains Ant-Man's Quantum Realm
By JEREMY SMITH
In "Ant-Man and the Wasp," director Peyton Reed cleverly includes a scene from the classic comedy "National Lampoon's Animal House" as a nod to the concept of the Quantum Realm.
During the director's commentary, Reed explains that the idea of multiple worlds within the subatomic realm in the film reminded him of a scene from "Animal House."
In this scene, Donald Sutherland's character, Professor Jennings, remarks that "an entire universe could exist in my fingernail" while smoking marijuana with his students.
Reed licensed this clip to use as an Easter egg, subtly highlighting the film's playful and imaginative take on subatomic worlds, akin to the outlandish fun of "Animal House."
