The Air Force One Moment Harrison Ford Refused To Film
By SANDY SCHAEFER
Harrison Ford, known for characters like Han Solo and Indiana Jones, wasn’t accustomed to vulnerable roles like President James Marshall in the action-thriller “Air Force One.”
In a scene from Andrew W. Marlowe's script, he was directed to sit and collect himself during a crisis, but Ford's characters usually persist until the mission is done.
Ford refused to do the scene as written. He explained to Marlowe and the crew that his character, mirroring his onscreen persona, wouldn't sit down until the crisis was over.
“People don't come to the movies to see me beat up other people. They come to the movie to see me get beaten up and then get up again,” Ford told Syfy.
