The 10 Spookiest Moments In Wednesday Season 1, Ranked

10. The First Body is Found
If you were expecting the tamer, albeit morbid, antics of earlier Addams family installments, Burton’s “Wednesday” quickly puts these thoughts to rest. Episode 1 starts off strong with one of the bloodiest scenes of the series, with the discovery of the scattered arms, legs, and torso of the latest victim in a string of gory murders near the school.
9. Wednesday’s First Vision
Like the show’s spookier undertone, “Wednesday” makes some changes to its titular character. In the show, Wednesday has the psychic ability to see visions. Viewers learn of her ability when she discovers her brother tied up by bullies, and has a vision of his attackers, violently throwing her head back and stiffening her body as if struck by lightning.
8. Piranha Pool Attack
After her vision reveals her brother’s bullies, Wednesday gets her revenge by dropping two bags of piranha in the pool as they’re having water polo practice. The scene is hilarious and delightfully macabre, and there’s a spooky satisfaction in watching the boys swim away as fast as they can, although, the head bully isn't quite fast enough.
7. The Monster Attacks
When she has a vision of Rowan dying, Wednesday follows him into the woods only for him to turn on her and attack her with his telekinetic powers. Rowan says that there’s a prophecy that Wednesday will destroy the school, but before he can kill her, he’s attacked by the monster, giving us our first glimpse of the creepy creature and setting up another spooky mystery.
6. Monster Jump Scare
Wednesday has a vision of her ancestor Goody Addams escaping the cruel Joseph Crackstone, the outcast-hating forefather of the nearby town Jericho. After her horrifying vision, viewers expect a moment of reprieve but instead are met with a spooky jump scare when Wednesday meets the bulging eyes of the monster watching her.
