“Terrifer 2” took the violence and gore of the original film to a new level, but perhaps the most critical addition to the series is the introduction of a hero character.
Lauren LaVera’s Sienna Shaw will serve as Art the Clown’s rival going forward, complete with the supernatural powers she’ll need to go toe-to-toe with the murderous jester.
Sienna is killed during “Terrifer 2,” but she’s brought back to life and continues the fight against Art. The third film in the series will likely address how this was possible.
Creator Damien Leone shared that Sienna is his favorite part of the sequel, as she acts as a counter-balance to Art’s sadism and the film’s unrelenting violence.
Leone explained the religious imagery, “The clown is this resurrected demon and Sienna is slowly becoming aware that she's sort of this Old Testament angel ready to do battle.”
Although the filmmaker isn’t certain how long the “Terrifer” series will go on, he added about Sienna, “We will be following her journey to the end of this franchise.”
