Ted Lasso’s Season 3 Premiere Makes Us Want An AFC Richmond LEGO Soccer Stadium
By DREW TINNIN
Spoiler Warning!
This post contains spoilers for Season 3, Episode 1 of "Ted Lasso."
Season 3, Episode 1 of "Ted Lasso" is really all about family, but not necessarily the football family that comes together out on the pitch. One particular scene is all about family bonding between Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) and his son Henry (Gus Turner) and gives fans a glimpse of something unexpected, an AFC Richmond LEGO Soccer Stadium.
After taking Henry to the airport, Ted returns to his apartment, missing his son more than ever, and cleans up a LEGO set that they made together of the entire Nelson Road Stadium. There are also custom-made Minifigures of the team: Coach Beard and Roy Kent have drawn-on facial hair, Higgins has coke bottle glasses, and Rebecca looks fabulous even in LEGO form.
The makeshift LEGO set is an important detail that shows Henry is rooting for his Dad and AFC Richmond — he even makes a custom LEGO trophy to help inspire his Dad to win. The Lasso-verse has plenty of toy options, and LEGO has made replica stadiums of other soccer clubs as well, which may leave fans wanting their own AFC Richmond LEGO Soccer Stadium.
