Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 9 Offers Up A Hint Of Hope For Nate’s Redemption
By LEX BRISCUSO
Spoiler Warning!
This story contains spoilers for Season 3, Episode 9 of “Ted Lasso.”
While Nate joining Rupert and becoming the head coach of the rival team, West Ham, has set him up to be Season 3’s villain in “Ted Lasso,” he might not have that title for long.
After abstaining from his sleazy boss’ proposition for a “boys’ night,” which included two beautiful women Rupert invited, it appears Nate could be on the path to redemption.
Nate’s actor Nick Mohammed took to Twitter shortly after Episode 9 dropped, saying, “Has [Nate] done enough to redeem himself: no. Does him saying no to Rupert offer hope: yes.”
Nate clearly has mixed feelings about how his life has changed since leaving, with Mohammed saying, “As much as he’s done what he’s done, there has to be an element of regret.”
Nate’s redemptive arc might be complicated, however, as he must find a change within himself and regain the trust of Ted and the rest of the Richmond team.
Though Mohammed said, “Someone having a redemptive story is as much about someone allowing them to have that redemption and to accept it. The onus isn’t always on the individual.”
