Taylor Swift Will Write And Direct A Feature Film For Searchlight Pictures
By JEREMY MATHAI
After becoming the first solo artist to receive a pair of Best Directing awards at the 2022 MTV VMAs and even getting an invite to the heralded Directors on Directors series hosted by Variety, Taylor Swift is all set to realize her "wildest dreams." Variety reports that the Grammy winner will be making her feature film debut to be produced by Searchlight Pictures.
Apparently, the idea for the story comes from an original script penned by Swift, although other details such as plot specifics and potential casting remain under wraps. In 2021, Swift directed her well-received short film "All Too Well: The Short Film," which is one of the eligible submissions for the 2023 Academy Awards.
Swift has also graced the silver screen with small roles in "Amsterdam" and "Cats," which bombed at the box office. However, if her relentlessly passionate fanbase is anything to go by, Swift's feature film debut is destined to become a whole other kind of show-stopping event — one that will have to be seen to be believed.
