Strange New Worlds’ Recent Guest Star Had His First Trek Role At Six Years Old

Actor Clint Howard was most recently involved with "Star Trek" as a general in a "Strange New Worlds" episode, but many don’t know his first "Trek" appearance was at six years old.
In "The Corbomite Maneuver," the tenth episode of the original "Star Trek" series, the U.S.S. Enterprise gets approached by a mysterious spaceship with immense destructive power.
The ship was called the Fesarius, and Captain Kirk (William Shatner) could only talk with the Fesarius’ captain, Balok (voiced by Ted Cassidy), via audio communications.
Eventually, Spock (Leonard Nimoy) hacked into the ship’s video cameras and got a visual of Balok. Despite a nightmare-inducing blue face, it’s revealed Balok was enacting a bluff.
He was not an evil, blue-skinned alien, but a creature that looked an awful lot like a six-year-old boy. This version of Balok was played by six-year-old Clint Howard.
