Star Wars: The Acolyte’s High Republic Setting Explained
By RYAN SCOTT
The latest live-action series in the "Star Wars" universe, "The Acolyte," transports viewers to an uncharted territory within the galaxy far, far away, known as The High Republic.
Crafted by Leslye Headland (“Russian Doll”), this series introduces new characters and explores an era unseen on screen, predating the original films by hundreds of years.
The show follows a respected Jedi Master as he investigates a heinous crime spree, confronting a dangerous warrior from his past. As the story unfolds, dark secrets come to light.
Lucasfilm aims to explore the era described by Obi-Wan Kenobi in "A New Hope," when the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace "before the dark times, before the Empire."
However, fans have questioned the series' setting. Published works like the novels "Quest of the Jedi," "Light of the Jedi," and "Trials of the Jedi" provide more details.
