Ensign Hoshi Sato’s fate after "Star Trek: Enterprise" reveals a dark connection to the infamous Tarsus IV massacre, where a young Captain Kirk witnessed a horrifying act.
In the "Star Trek" episode "The Conscience of the King," it’s explained that Kirk witnessed Governor Kodos’s decision to cut half of the colony’s population during a food shortage.
In the "Enterprise" episode "In a Mirror Darkly," it’s revealed that Hoshi and her family were among the victims of Kodos’s orders in 2246.
Hoshi Sato’s file in the episode read, "Hoshi and her family were among the four thousand people who died on Tarsus Four in 2246."
