Spoiler Warning!
This story contains spoilers for
Season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard.”
In the final scenes of “Star Trek: Picard,” Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) commands the newly christened Enterprise-G and takes her ship out on a new exploratory mission.
Just before leaping to warp, the crew turns to the captain in anticipation, wondering what her signature catchphrase will be to activate the engines, like Picard’s “Engage.”
As a fun tease, Captain Seven of Nine took in a breath to give the order, and then the showrunners cut away before audiences could hear her answer.
“Picard” showrunner Terry Matalas revealed to ComicBook.com that they shot an unused scene where the crew gave a reaction to Captain Seven of Nine saying “her line.”
Matalas explained, “We actually shot a post-post-credit to them reacting disappointed to it, and she's like, ‘This is a work in progress.’ But it's better left
as a mystery.”
A mystery that Matalas hopes to explore in a potential spinoff series that he wants to call “Star Trek: Legacy.” He added, “We hope to see [her catchphrase] one day.”
