Star Trek: Lower Decks Isn’t Ignoring Its Crossover With Strange New Worlds

Spoiler Warning!
This story contains spoilers for “Star Trek: Lower Decks” season 4.
While “Star Trek: Lower Decks” is an animated series, Boimler and Mariner have become part of the franchise’s greater lore with a live-action debut in “Strange New Worlds.”
The pair reference their live-action appearance between Season 3 and 4 of “Lower Decks” during the animated show’s Season 4 premiere.
When Boimler gets nervous about handling the historically important equipment on the Voyager, Mariner points out that this is low-stakes compared to their off-season adventure.
Mariner states, “Dude, this is nothing compared to, you know, that Pike thing we aren’t supposed to talk about.”
The two likely kept it a secret as they used a portal to time travel for their adventure, which could have messed up their entire future.
Unfortunately, this is the only reference they made to the crossover, possibly because the writers wanted to avoid being an interconnected franchise like the MCU.
