Aren't All Christopher Walken Steals When He's On A Movie Set
By MATT RAINIS
While he's inarguably a fantastic actor, Christopher Walken has always been a bit of an odd duck. He’s an eccentric scene stealer, but an interview with The Guardian also revealed that Walken has a bit of a kleptomaniacal streak and almost never buys clothes, instead stealing garments from the films he makes.
Walken once showed up to an interview in an Armani jacket that he wore in the 1990 film "The Comfort of Strangers," 20 years after the film was made. "I never buy clothes," said Walken at the time. "Whenever I do a movie, all my clothing is from the set. They don't give me anything. I steal."
Stealing is a crime in most cultures, but it’s hard to blame Walken, considering the wide array of characters he has played throughout his one-of-a-kind acting career. Now that he is set to play the emperor in “Dune 2,” let’s hope that he integrates a Denis Villeneuve sci-fi sensibility into his regular wardrobe.
