Ryan Reynolds’ Ridiculous Deadpool 2 Pitch Was Instantly Rejected By Fox

With “Deadpool” making $780 million worldwide on a budget of only $58 million, a sequel was all but assured. Several ideas were proposed and rejected while developing “Deadpool 2.”
One of the silliest ideas that Fox rejected came from star Ryan Reynolds himself, as he explained during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show.”
Reynolds shared his pitch for the sequel: “The whole story of the movie would be Deadpool trying to steal the big red chair from ‘The Voice.’”
“The Voice” is a long-running singing competition show on NBC. The actor added, “They [Fox Studios] were like, ‘No. That’s the dumbest thing ever. So, no.’”
