Robert Downey Jr. Pressured Marvel To Get His MCU Co-Stars Paid
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
Given how much money the MCU has made since Robert Downey, Jr. starred in 2008's "Iron Man," it's hard to believe some of its stars were initially paid relatively little.
Luckily, Robert Downey, Jr. found himself in a position to stand up for co-stars and ensure they were paid fairly when negotiating a new contract for "Iron Man 3."
As the Avenger's original member, Downey knew he could walk out on the series or renegotiate his contract if the studio threatened to cut or underpay his co-stars.
Another anonymous source explained that there was an unspoken rule to follow during an actor salary dispute: "I have four words for Marvel — 'F*** you, call Robert.'"
