Robert Downey Jr. Agreed To Play Marvel's Doctor Doom Under One Condition

As revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Robert Downey Jr. is all set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this time not as Iron Man but as the supervillain Doctor Doom.
According to a report by Variety, Downey Jr. had one strict condition for his return: He would only come back if the Russo brothers were involved in directing the project.
This decision has paved the way for the upcoming "Avengers: Doomsday," slated for a May 2026 release, and its sequel, "Avengers: Secret Wars," both set to feature this hit team.
Downey Jr. has previously collaborated with Joe and Anthony Russo on three successful Marvel films: "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Endgame."
