Richard Lewis’ Curb Your Enthusiasm Connection Literally Goes Back To Birth
By JEREMY MATHAI
Only weeks before his sudden death, Vanity Fair profiled Richard Lewis, diving deep into his career, health, and his love of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" showrunner Larry David.
Strong creative partnerships don't typically emerge by chance, particularly in show business, so fans might not be surprised to learn that Lewis and David were lifelong friends.
Their eerily similar connections first took shape beginning in the year of their birth in 1947, when they were both born a mere three days apart at the same hospital in Brooklyn.
The two met for the first time at summer camp when they were 12. They reconnected a decade later while working as comedians in New York City.
Friends ever since. Lewis glowingly talked about David to Vanity Fair. "I can't tell you how loving he is — the best friend you could ever imagine," he said.
His friendship with David resulted in him joining "Curb." "The show gives me another vehicle to express my feelings to Larry, because we are the oldest of friends." Lewis added.
