Reacher Season 2 Makes It Clear One Book Won’t Make It Into The Show

Season 1 of “Reacher” concluded with Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher, a military special investigator, leaving Margrave, Georgia, after solving murders which included his brother’s.
“Reacher” Season 1 adapted Lee Child's “Killing Floor,” the first Jack Reacher novel. However, Season 2 leaps ahead to the eleventh book in the series, “Bad Luck and Trouble.”
There is a passing reference in the second episode of the second season that suggests the Reacher novel “One Shot” may not find its way to the TV screen anytime soon.
“One Shot” is the ninth entry in the 28-book Reacher series. The book begins with a shooting in Indiana which ultimately results in the arrest of former military sniper James Barr.
Reacher discovers that Barr wasn’t the culprit. When Barr is brought up in season 2, Reacher says “He owes me now,” implying that the events of “One Shot” have already happened.
“One Shot” might ring a bell for fans because it was brought to the big screen in 2012, with Tom Cruise stepping into the role of Jack Reacher to solve Barr's false conviction.
