Patrick Swayze’s Daredevil Nature Landed Him In Hot Water During Point Break

“Point Break” follows FBI Agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) as he infiltrates a group of bank robbers who love surfing and skydiving, led by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze).
Like his character, Swayze loved skydiving, and he did it so much during production that the studio gave him a cease and desist letter.
Keanu Reeves said, “He kept jumping out of airplanes, and they’re like, ‘No, we’re making a movie, you can’t just go jump out of airplanes.’”
Reeves estimated that Swayze did “over 30 jumps.” Director Kathryn Bigelow was even able to go around studio regulations and include some of Swayze’s skydiving in the movie.
Reeves shared, “Once ‘production was over,’ then they had Patrick jump out of an airplane, and so he did all those flips in the sky.”
