M:I - Fallout Changed A Scene Because Of Tom Cruise & Alec Baldwin's Injuries

The audio commentary for "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" details the film's Easter eggs, callbacks, and behind-the-scenes tidbits that shaped certain sequences.
Director Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise revealed one scene that needed to be changed: the safehouse confrontation between Ethan Hunt and Alec Baldwin's Alan Hunley.
Cruise had broken his ankle during a scene with Henry Cavill, while Baldwin had recently undergone a double hip replacement operation, which made moving about constantly painful.
As both actors were in extreme pain, the scene needed to be changed so there would be no sudden moves or dramatic gestures. McQuarrie used smart blocking techniques instead.
McQuarrie said, "I was like, 'Okay, I've got an idea, how about you don't walk in this scene. Let's have this whole scene happen around you."
