Matthew Modine Had No Idea How Big Madonna Would Be When She Was Shooting
Vision Quest

1985’s "Vision Quest" has become a sports cult classic and features not only songs from Madonna but also a quick, memorable cameo by the legendary pop singer. When star Matthew Modine first heard the film’s song "Crazy for You," he honestly didn't think much of it and didn't see Madonna's star power quite yet.
Not knowing that the song would quickly become a hit and sell over 2 million copies in the U.S. during the '80s, Modine also didn't get Madonna's look. "She looked like Boy George," Modine recalled, adding, "The producers were saying this girl was going to be such a big star, but I remember people not really being impressed."
Later in Rome, Modine stumbled on a poster with a large image of Madonna and at the bottom a picture of him in a scene from the movie. “The movie had gone from being a Matthew Modine movie that Madonna was in to a Madonna movie that Matthew Modine was in!” he said, noting, “That's how fate would have it."
