Marvel TV’s Two Biggest Problems Might Be Unsolvable
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
While MCU films might adhere to tight release schedules, shooting TV shows took comparatively too much time — six hours of scripted content over the usual two-and-a-half.
Characters cannot be killed, superheroes may not quit their jobs, and players must remain in place for future installments, so every series had to remain kind of open-ended.
Leaving the shows open allows potential future writers to pick up where they want but robs the current ones of the ability to present any kind of satisfying conclusions.
Marvel lost the ability to issue vital press releases years in advance and couldn't announce what came next if the status quo could change at any minute.
