Marvel Promised David Hasselhoff A ‘Forever’ Role, But It Was All A Lie

In 1998, David Hasselhoff was cast as Nick Fury in an action TV movie titled “Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D,” which marked the beginning of his association with Marvel.
In the book “MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios” by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzalez, and Gavin Edwards, Hasselhoff disclosed that he was offered the lifelong role of Nick Fury.
The actor met with Marvel executives like Stan Lee and Avi Arad. Arad told Hasselhoff, “Don't worry, you're going to be Nick Fury forever,” but he never played him again.
Hasselhoff played the original comic book version of Fury, and in an interview with Bristol Bad Film Club, he said, "I was happy to pay homage and tribute to the real Nick Fury."
