In the media, death is not the end. Through dramatic devices, characters return for emotional or narrative reasons, be it to spackle over cracks in the plot or for sentimentality.
George Cooper Sr. (Lance Barber,) Sheldon and Georgie Cooper’s dad in "Young Sheldon," died in the series' finale. However, he could return for "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage."
Barber told Dextero, "I'd be open to getting the offer, that would be so flattering. If they figure out a way to do it that wasn't diminishing what they've already established."
He continued, "If the writers decided to do that, they would do that in a thoughtful and classy way as opposed to a stunt to get people to watch the ghost of George Cooper return."
However, if the character never returns, he's okay with that, too. "The way that George lives on in the show," he said, "I like the idea that that's where the legacy ends for him."
