John Wick’s Sledgehammer Scene Was Very Real For Keanu Reeves

The “John Wick” series has many fantastic sequences, such as the famous sledgehammer scene that sees Keanu Reeves’ infamous assassin unearthing his past life.
In the director’s commentary for the film, director Chad Stahelski revealed, “Keanu’s actually using a real sledgehammer there.”
He added, “He didn’t like using the fake rubber one, so he beat the crap out of this set with a real sledgehammer, and that’s real sweat.”
Reeves has a reputation for doing his own stunts, but it was especially integral for the “John Wick” franchise’s success as it gives it a sense of realism.
