Jenna Ortega Choreographed Wednesday's Ultra-Goth Dance Scene Herself

It’s no secret that the best scene in Tim Burton’s Netflix series, "Wednesday," occurs in the fourth episode, "Woe What A Night." Turns out, Wednesday Addams herself, Jenna Ortega, revealed that she put together the moves for Wednesday's dance, and what inspired the confidently macabre teen character’s kooky and graceful dance moves.
Ortega said that she "actually felt really insecure" about her self-choreographed dance to The Cramps’ "Goo Goo Muck." Her eccentric dance moves were inspired by artists such as Siouxsie Sioux, new wave musician Lene Lovich, "Beau Travail" actor Denis Lavant, and Bob Fosse's moves from "The Rich Man's Frug," a musical number in the 1969 film "Sweet Charity."
The actor also viewed "archival footage of goths dancing in clubs in the 80's [sic]" and a dance called "The Drew" that actress Lisa Loring performed as Wednesday in the popular 1960s TV version of "The Addams Family." Ortega incorporated similar movements from “The Drew” into her routine, which is hilariously intimidating thanks to the stone-faced look she maintains.
