Jack Black Says He’d Make A School Of Rock Sequel Under One Condition
By JEREMY MATHAI
Jack Black, the star of “School of Rock,” expressed interest in a sequel while promoting "Kung Fu Panda 4." However, he emphasized the importance of having one condition to do so.
The film stars Black as Dewey Finn, who impersonates a substitute teacher named Ned Schneebly. He forms a rock band with his students and participates in the battle of the bands.
Black expressed his enthusiasm for a “School of Rock” sequel in an interview with JOE, commenting, “I wish there'd be a ‘School of Rock 2 Electric Boogaloo.’ I'm ready.”
However, Black quickly named his requirement, stating, “You know Mike White wrote the first one and he's a genius. And we'd have to have Mike White back in the saddle [...].”
White wrote the film and appeared in the original film as the real Ned Schneebly. To date, there has been no official word about a “School of Rock 2.”
