Is Pacific Rim 3 Still A Possibility?

Guillermo del Toro developed (and intended to direct) his version of "Pacific Rim 2," but timing was an issue. Sometimes, directors circle back to a franchise after taking a break.
On Twitter, del Toro has made it clear he has no such intentions for a third movie, though he did tease that perhaps "Pacific Rim" and the MonsterVerse inhabit the same space.
Warner Bros. and Legendary have announced no plans for "Pacific Rim 3,” but a tentative project is in place for something big, as was revealed by director Steven S. DeKnight.
“PR3 was structured to end in a way that married the two universes," DeKnight tweeted. However, as the sequel trended downward, "Pacific Rim 3" would be a tough sell.
