"Napoleon Dynamite" was a key entry in the quirky indie scene of the aughts. As the 20th anniversary approaches, it’s a fitting time for Napoleon Dynamite 2 to finally happen.
Pedro actor Efren Ramirez told Canton Repository of the film's enduring popularity and revealed that there had been talks of a prequel and a sequel.
Notably, when asked if a sequel was likely to happen, Ramirez dodged the question. "Um, uh, legally, all I can say is it is up in the air," he replied, laughing as he did.
At Steel City Con, star Jon Heder also hinted, "I honestly think there's gonna be something — whether it's a sequel, or a TV show, or another animated [show]," as he put it.
