Indiana Jones 5 Concept Art Teases Indy's Final Globetrotting Adventure [D23]
By RYAN SCOTT
While there’s no trailer for “Indiana Jones 5” yet, there are some fresh new images for the film on the D23 convention floor. The booth at Disney’s big expo reveals a first look at several costumes and concept art from the upcoming movie, and they raise more questions than answers.
The costumes look nearly identical to those featured in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” as one of the outfits and the accompanying concept art of the character wearing it calls to mind Toht, played by Ronald Lacey in “Raiders.” This could be the character Mads Mikkelsen plays in the upcoming movie.
The other concept art offers a view of some locations that might be featured in the upcoming movie. Various pieces depict a chase through some city streets, a hotel in a city that could be where the pursuit occurs, and the exploration of a tomb that may be from the same sequence that the first-look photo of Harrison Ford comes from.
Some of the actors joining Harrison Ford on this new adventure include Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Thomas Kretschmann (“Avengers: Age of Ultron”), Shaunette Renée Wilson (“The Resident”), and Antonio Banderas (“The Mask of Zorro”). The movie is currently planned to hit theaters on June 30, 2023.
