While experimenting with different genres and ideas can result in some fantastic episodes, it can also lead to terrible ones, such as some of the lowest-rated episodes of "Bones."
It's one of these genre-bending stories that sits as the show's lowest-rated episode on IMDb: Season 8's "The Ghost in the Machine."
"Ghost" is the show's wildest experiment in terms of stylistic perspective, as it's almost entirely from the point of view of the skull of its teenage murder victim, Colin Gibson.
The episode has characters looking right at or talking directly to the camera. It also features an ending that deals with the idea of a soul that may leave some viewers upset.
