How The
Star Wars Prequels Ranked The Strength Of Every Jedi And Sith
By JENNA BUSCH
Many “Star Wars” fans have debated who is the most powerful Force user in the franchise at one point. It turns out one of the prequel’s crew members also considered this question.
J.W. Rinzler’s book “The Making of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” reveals that lead lightsaber fight and stunt coordinator for the prequel trilogy Nick Gillard joined the debate.
Before the filming could begin, a decision about skill levels needed to be made to help guide the fight choreography. Gillard shared his rankings for George Lucas to draw from.
Gillard explained, “On ‘Attack of the Clones,’ I had to give them levels. Sidious is a level nine [out of 10]. On this film [‘Revenge of the Sith’], Obi is eight — he’s moved up.”
He continued, “Anakin is a nine; Mace [Samuel L. Jackson] is a nine, Yoda is a nine. They’re up with Sidious.” While these aren’t definitive rankings, they’re hard to argue against.
