How Season 3 Of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Sets Up The Mandalorian & Grogu
By BRYAN YOUNG
Spoiler Warning!
This story contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" season 3, episode 10, "Identity Crisis."
This week's episode of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch," "Identity Crisis," takes us back to Mount Tantiss and focuses on Emerie Karr instead of visiting Clone Force 99 at all.
The "Identity Crisis" is Emerie's as one of the Empire's secrets causes her to rethink her place in the Imperial war machine — children, stolen from various parts of the Empire.
There are three stolen kids, one of whom pleads with Emerie to help her go home. Dr. Hemlock assures Emerie that this is all fine, but something about it seems to crack her facade.
These kids all have high midi-chlorian counts and will likely be used to create Palpatine clones. Cad Bane even hunts down and kidnaps a Force-sensitive child in the episode.
This side plot is pretty much the exact storyline of the first episode of "The Mandalorian," meaning this episode shows us what could have happened to Grogu in Gideon’s care.
Cohesively, "The Bad Batch" and "The Mandalorian" are doing a great job of paving the way toward the second rise and ultimate fall of Palpatine in "The Rise of Skywalker."
