"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" featured the return of many beloved characters, and the film did a wonderful job honoring the legacy of Chadwick Boseman. Although the movie is brimming with incredible performances, there is one cameo that no one can stop talking about.
Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) returns, and while such a popular character coming back isn't a total surprise, it does make for a thrilling scene. "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" co-writer Joe Robert Cole said they had to be sure the character's appearance was justified.
“How do you make it more than just everyone's excited because Michael's amazing, and the character's amazing?” said Cole, adding, “How is it relevant to Shuri's journey and become a pivot point for her character?" In the movie, a completely heartbroken Shuri sees Killmonger in the Ancestral Plane.
Killmonger’s discussion with Shuri is what propels the film forward, and is also vital to how Shuri can finally begin to process her grief. Jordan does an amazing job playing the character, so if there is any justice in the multiverse, maybe Killmonger will return in a future MCU project.
