How Quentin Tarantino Convinced Kurt Russel To Join Death Proof

Kurt Russell, who plays "Stuntman" Mike in the 2007 film "Death Proof," revealed to The Quentin Tarantino Archives how the namesake director convinced him to join the film.
Tarantino's deep understanding of Russell's career and infectious excitement about the project made a strong impression, and the actor's interest was immediately piqued.
As Russell explained, "When he shows you that he knows everything about your career, everything you've ever done, you realize his level of knowledge is extraordinary."
Tarantino's expertise and enthusiasm for the project were contagious. "I have to do this. I have to know what this is like," Russell figured, feeling compelled to be a part of it.
