How Flapjack Led To All Of Your Favorite Modern Cartoons
By RAFAEL MOTAMAYOR
"The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" debuted in the late 2000s, and while it might not have seemed like it at the time, the show would have a massive influence on cartoons.
Many of the "Flapjack" writers and storyboard artists went on to do projects of their own, such as Alex Hirsch's "Gravity Falls" and J.G. Quintel's "The Regular Show."
The impact of "Flapjack" was even acknowledged in "Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake," where Flapjack is revealed to be a universe within the larger "Adventure Time" universe.
"Adventure Time" itself would launch several careers and shows, such as Pete Browngardt's "Uncle Grandpa" and Rebecca Sugar's widely acclaimed "Steven Universe."
