How Chris Evans Became ‘Skinny Steve’ For Captain America: The First Avenger

Chris Evans became skinny in 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger" via a combination of strategies and effects, as well as having to shoot the scenes three times each.
In one version of the scene, Chris Evans would stand in place and deliver his lines. In another, a scrawnier stand-in — actor Leander Deeny — would perform in his place.
In a third variation, the scene was reportedly filmed without any actor. This gave the effects team tons of footage to work their magic on.
Green screens and tracking markers were sometimes used, and Deeny had to be digitally thinned down as well. It took nine different effects companies to
make skinny Steve.
