House Of The Dragon Season 2's Disturbing Daemon Sex Scene, Explained

In "House of the Dragon" Season 2, Episode 5, Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith, dreams of a sexual encounter with a woman resembling his mother, Princess Alyssa Targaryen.
During this vision, she praises him with lines like, "You were always the strong one. The finest swordsman. The fearless dragon rider," telling him he should have been the king.
The scene becomes even more disturbing when Daemon realizes he has blood on his hands, which, perhaps, symbolizes guilt and the dark, unresolved issues within his psyche.
