Henry Cavill To Star And Executive Produce A Series Adaptation Of Warhammer 40,000
By BEN F. SILVERIO
Despite Henry Cavill’s cameo as Superman in “Black Adam” and revealing his return as the superhero in October 2022, DC Studios announced that the actor wouldn’t be reprising the role in future projects. Cavill might still appear in the DC Universe as a new character, but in the meantime, he may have found another potentially massive franchise: “Warhammer 40,000.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill has joined the team behind a new series based on the popular sci-fi fantasy tabletop wargame that utilizes intricate miniatures. Although Amazon has apparently secured him as the star and executive producer for the project, it sounds like there are still some obstacles to overcome before production gets underway.
The report indicates that Amazon is still negotiating with Games Workshop, the U.K.-based gaming manufacturer that created the game, over the rights to adapt the property. While the project doesn’t have showrunners or writers yet, “Warhammer 40,000” is extremely popular and could easily be Amazon’s next big franchise, especially with a massive fan like Cavill attached to the series.
