Godzilla Vs. Kong's Opening Credits Include Some Major Errors
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the opening credits of "Godzilla vs. Kong" had significant errors, particularly concerning the height and weight statistics of the titular monsters.
One error is with Godzilla's measurements. His height is listed as 393 feet and his weight as 164,000 tons, figures that have varied across different Monsterverse films.
Moreover, in "Kong: Skull Island," Kong is 104 feet tall, but in "Godzilla vs. Kong," he grows to match Godzilla's height. However, the opening credits fail to reflect that.
Director Adam Wingard acknowledged these mistakes during a Reddit AMA, attributing them to the hectic production process, complicated by COVID-19 restrictions and crew illnesses.
To answer a fan, he wrote, "The honest answer is we were finishing that title sequence while doing 200 other things during the pandemic and some things got a little overlooked."
