Godzilla Vs. Kong Snuck In An Homage To Horror Movie Jason X

Jim Isaac’s 2002 slasher “Jason X” places the iconic killer Jason Voorhees in space, where he resumes his murderous rampage in the year 2455.
The film has many wacky moments, such as a hologram recreation of Camp Crystal Lake. The hologram also includes over-the-top camp counselors to complete the illusion.
Jason picks up a bagged counselor and begins beating the other counselor to death with her. While this is a goofy scene, it actually made its way into another franchise.
Director Adam Wingard shared during a Reddit AMA that the scene where Kong beats a monster to death with another creature in “Godzilla vs. Kong” came from “Jason X.”
Wingard wrote, “That was inspired by the holodeck murder scene in ‘Jason X’ when Jason picks up the camper in their sleeping bag and smashes them around.”
