Gene Roddenberry’s Son Holds One Star Trek Episode Above All Others

In December 2021, Rod Roddenberry, the son of "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry, shared with Trekkies on Reddit that "The Devil in the Dark" was probably his favorite episode.
Despite noting that he has more explicit memories of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," the executive producer holds the classic episode from the original series above all others.
Roddenberry explained how "The Devil in the Dark" was the episode "that made the biggest impression on me when I was first introduced to 'Star Trek.’"
Blown away by the misunderstood antagonist who fought to protect its young, what stands out to Roddenberry the most is "the twist, recognizing that we were the devil in the dark."
