Gary Graham’s Star Trek Career Was Longer Than You Likely Realize
By WITNEY SEIBOLD
On January 23, 2024, actor Gary Graham, star of "Alien Nation", "Robot Jox," and multiple-time "Star Trek" supporting player, passed away at the age of 74.
While fans likely know his role as the snippy Vulcan ambassador Soval on “Enterprise,” it wasn't the first time Graham was on "Star Trek," nor was it his last.
One of his earlier roles in the franchise is as Tanis, the leader of the Ocampa and a seemingly benevolent alien with a secret agenda in the “Voyager” episode “Cold Fire.”
The actor said he was considered for the roles of Benjamin Sisko and Captain Janeway, but the showrunners decided to go in different directions with those characters.
After “Enterprise,” Graham continued to show up in non-canon “Star Trek” films, such as the 2006 fan film “Star Trek: Of Gods and Men” and its 2015 sequel “Renegades” as Ragnar.
