From Perfect Blue To Paprika: Every Satoshi Kon Movie, Ranked
By DEVIN MEENAN
5. Paprika
Satoshi Kon's final work and only sci-fi movie, "Paprika" follows psychiatrist Dr. Atsuko Chiba and her DC Mini device, which allows her to see and enter people's dreams.
"Paprika" is set in a dream world where surrealism is the nature of the realm. There are talks of making a live-action version, but given the film's setting, it could be difficult.
4. Tokyo Godfathers
Kon's third film, 2003's "Tokyo Godfathers," is a Christmas movie that follows a trio of homeless people who have found a baby in the garbage.
"Tokyo Godfathers" is a comedy and takes after films like John Ford's "3 Godfathers." It sees the three clashing personalities who suddenly find themselves as parents.
3. Paranoia Agent
The 2004 mini-series "Paranoia Agent" begins with Tsukiko Sagi being assaulted by a roller-skating boy with a baseball bat, dubbed the "Lil' Slugger."
The first half of each episode follows a new protagonist, who has hit their personal rock bottom by the end and becomes Lil' Slugger's next victim.
