Fox's Bones Originally Had A Completely Different Title
By RYAN SCOTT
The popular TV show "Bones," which aired on Fox from 2005 to 2017, was originally going to be called "Brennan," named after its lead character, Temperance Brennan.
Creator Hart Hanson revealed in "Bones: The Official Companion" that the initial plan was for the show to focus solely on Brennan working with various law enforcement agencies.
However, the creators changed the title to "Bones" after witnessing the strong on-screen chemistry between Emily Deschanel (Brennan) and David Boreanaz (Seeley Booth).
Hanson noted, "'Bones' is her nickname and it's the start of every story; it's the bones. So we thought, 'Yeah, that's good. That's better than just Brennan.'"
This change in title was crucial as it shifted the show's direction from a single-lead format to an ensemble piece, reflecting the dynamic partnership between Brennan and Booth.
