Fox's Bones Had One Goal For Emily Deschanel's Brennan Right From The Start
By JOE ROBERTS
From the outset, Fox's "Bones" had a clear objective for Emily Deschanel's character, Temperance "Bones" Brennan: to have her travel extensively across the United States.
This goal was rooted in the reality of forensic anthropology, where experts are often required to travel to various locations to lend their expertise to investigations.
In the book "Bones: The Official Companion," executive producer Barry Josephson stressed that "getting her out in the field was very, very important" for character authenticity.
The writers carefully planned this aspect, with Brennan and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth traveling from D.C. to Los Angeles for the first time in Season 1, Episode 10.
