Every Season Of The West Wing, Ranked Worst To Best
By SAMUEL STONE
7. Season 5
Season 5 was the first season made without series creator Aaron Sorkin, and the series devolved into melodrama and mischaracterization without his guidance.
6. Season 6
While the show was beginning to recover from the loss of Sorkin by Season 6, it still included some melodrama and mischaracterization, especially with Abbey Bartlet.
5. Season 7
The final season focuses on the presidential race introduced in Season 6 and does it justice, but it falls flat on concluding the stories of long-standing characters.
4. Season 1
“The West Wing” was finding its footing in Season 1, and while it starts strong, President Bartlet is a bit sidelined and Lyman has a strange romance with Mandy Hampton.
3. Season 3
While Season 3 does a good job continuing Bartlet’s reelection storyline, it focuses too much on terrorism as a result of the real-world 9/11 attacks.
