Every Parks And Recreation Season Ranked Worst To Best
By VALERIE ETTENHOFER
7. Season 1
With only six episodes, Season 1 is a lackluster introduction to the show and the characters before it became known as one of the most winsome shows on primetime.
"Parks And Recreation" was initially conceived of as a spinoff of "The Office," early episodes foreground that show's cringe-inducing humor and mean-spirited attitude.
6. Season 7
Despite accumulating so much public goodwill, the time-jumping final season shows a few cracks. Season 7 takes the characters down a disappointingly predictable path.
However, the season does some things right. Stars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman carry the emotional weight on their own and are featured in their own solo episode, "Leslie & Ron."
5. Season 6
While Season 7 is filled with memorable events, Season 6 goes overlooked. It features a mash-up of disparate plotlines that ultimately signal the show is near its end.
Unsatisfied with focusing on Leslie's day-to-day life on the city council, the show moves quickly to a re-election plotline, then to her pregnancy.
4. Season 5
By Season 5, "Parks and Rec" had gone from being underrated to a fan favorite. The writers knew it: the season features a balance of callbacks and recurring bits.
The season has explored new comedic territory, such as Ann's pursuit of single motherhood. It's also among the best for fans of Leslie and Ben's relationship.
3. Season 2
Season 2 is perhaps the most rewatchable, as it upped the comedic antics and reveals the depth of Pawnee's strangeness for the first time.
It also follows Andy and April's romance, greatly benefitting from the show's mockumentary format. It also explores more of the lore, like Ron's sex-crazed librarian ex-wife Tammy.
